To Grandmother's House We Go

Anna and I finally made it out of the house the other day. I got her all bundled up in a snow suit and blanket and rushed her the 100 ft. to my parents house. I'm definitely an overprotective mother. It felt good to get out of the house though.

Here is Anna taking the 1 mile trip to her other grandparents house. It was also an exciting adventure. She ended up crying most of the time, but they were still excited to see her.

We also had our first bath with no screaming last night. It was a momentous occasion. Anna has found it very amusing to look at herself in the mirror and this distracts her from the water. This is her with her cute towel.

Here is one of her smiling, I just really like it.

And here is one of Anna and Mark playing with a toy. They have their play time when Mark gets home from work every day. Anna gets all excited to see her daddy.

I know all I talk about is Anna, but she takes up most of my time. I have been able to keep up my exercising and eating right though. I lost 1.5 lbs last week, I was very excited. It's nice to see hard work paying off. I also found a great recipe for au gratin carrots. It is a good replacement for potatoes at a meal and a lot less calories. Here it is if anyone is interested. I'm not a huge fan of Rosemary so I only put in 1 tsp. the second time and it still came out really good, if you like it go ahead and put it all in. Mark prefers it that way.

Au Gratin Carrots
1 pound Carrots sliced 1/2 in. thick
1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1 Tbs butter, melted
1 can condensed cream of celery soup
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 Tbs parsley
2 tsp. rosemary

Cook carrots in small amount of boiling water for aobut 10 minutes or until just tender, drain well. Combine bread crumbs and melted butter. In a medium bowl combing cooked carrots, soup, cheddar cheese, parsley, and rosemary. Spoon mixture into a 9x13 casserole dish(I use an 8x8 and it works fine) and sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 350degrees for 25 minutes.

Well I hope everyone has a great day. I'll try to update more often, but Anna doesn't like sitting at the computer for the time being so it's hard to get on here.

Happy Valentine's Day

I had some fun taking pictures of Anna today. Here are some of my favorites. It's still hard to catch her with a smile, but I'm getting closer.

The color isn't as nice on this pic, but I like her expression.

Anna keeps growing by the day. She can sit in her swing now. Her head is still a little wobbly, but she seems to like it. For the first time today I left her in her room with a baby monitor. She slept for about 20 minutes. I didn't like it, but Mark says I need to do things like that for my sanity. He's probably right, it's just hard for me not to be with her. I guess that's part of being a new mom:)

It was requested that I put a picture of myself holding her. I'm the one always taking the pictures so there's not a lot with me in them. Mark and I will have to work on that.

Life has been the same as normal this week. I'm still working towards my weight loss goals and this week has been good. It's hard to fit in exercise, but I'm managing. I can make it to Jazzercise a few times a week and that helps. Becca's class on Tuesday totally kicked my butt. I've been so sore the past couple of days and I get to go and do it all again tonight:) I lost 1/2 lb. this week and 3 in. I'd like to lose a little more weight in a week, but I'll take it. Every little bit counts and as long as I keep working hard, I'll make it to my goal:)

Anna being cute.

Anna is starting to sit in her bouncy chair. She'll sit in it for about 20 minutes so her mom can do some work:)

She is also starting to smile, but I haven't caught it in a picture yet. This picture is about as close as I have gotten.

Here is a pic of her sleeping. I thought it was cute. She is such a sweetheart. She is starting to sleep through the night which is a definite plus. I can almost function normally again. She likes to be cuddled during the day so I still don't get a whole lot done around the house, but that's okay. She's only little once.

Anna likes to sleep on her daddy. Mark wishes he could get some sleep too:)
Here is another picture of Anna being cute.

I love Anna's expression in this pic, it's so funny.

I don't know what I'm doing:)

So I'm trying to figure out this whole blogging thing. I figure since I'm staying around the house all day that I might have time to do it, we'll see. Sometimes Anna doesn't let me do anything, but that's okay, she is such a cutie. Here are a couple of recent pictures of her. She is growing up so fast. She can't fit into some of newborn outfits anymore and it makes me sad. On the plus side, she is sleeping better through the night now. She is starting to smile for me too, although I haven't been able to catch it in a picture yet.
